i am asked fairly often, why do i build rolling ball sculptures? so i began to ponder and remember the attractions of my youth...

i was a little boy growing up in inglewood california in the 60's.

my family would go to Pacific Ocean Park in Santa Monica California - i look at the pictures from there, and i see balls suspended in midair and almost rolling down ramps!

The saturn v rocket and the Apollo program - our sheer ability to build anything, no matter how difficult.

The Watts Towers in Inglewood California - i see my passion for frame design when i look at this photo..

the SS Orsova - a passenger liner ship i sailed on to New Zealand - turns out that this is the first welded steel hull ship ever built (they were riveted prior to) - and I was to spend 3 weeks exploring it!
